Toon Blast Review: Puzzles With Cartoon Characters

Reviewing Process
Writing a review for our project means being a professional. This particular review was provided by the author that has beeen managing the app for 15 hours, no less, and checked its functionality on all the platforms it was released for.

What happens when you take the broadly popular gameplay model and wrap it with the cutest and cuddliest graphics? Amazing game for kids. Download Toon Blast now and you won’t have to worry about how to occupy your child anymore.

Toon Blast Gameplay 4/5

The first thing you need to know before diving in this Toon Blast Review is that it’s a match-two puzzle. Basically, developers have decided to decrease the difficulty of classical match-three puzzles to make it more kid-friendly. Each level has a specific goal and number of moves you’re allowed to make to achieve it. Two blocks that stand nearby can be broken by a tap resulting in more block falling to the field of view. Goals may vary from popping a certain amount of bubbles or crates to clearing certain colors from the field. In total there are around 200 levels, and developers keep adding new ones.

Toon Blast Graphics 4.5/5

Graphics are very colorful and will definitely catch kids’ attention. In the world of Toon Blast, you will find rubber ducks, silly bears and a lovely wolf that reminds more a living toy rather than a dangerous predator. Everything sparkles, breaks, explodes with constant participation of new animal friends. It reminds more as if you were watching a good cartoon rather than playing a game.

Toon Blast Sounds 5/5

Music is probably one of the best things here. You’ll find that it’s quite familiar even to you because it’s nothing else than soundtracks from old cartoons. Such an original decision is definitely worth a note. While kids are engaged in the world of cartoons and fun, parents meanwhile may relax and enjoy the feel of nostalgia that it gives. Sounds are also funny and not annoying as you would expect from other kids’ games.

Controls 4.5/5

There’s nothing much to say about controls. Those are well thought-out and ideally fit the gameplay. Simply tap a block to make it disappear. Basically, that’s all you’ll have to do. It is intuitive for kids no matter if they’re 10 or 4 years old. Levels get harder over time, and you won’t be able to pop random blocks anymore, so it kind of develops the strategic thinking.

Replay Value 3.5/5

The game has more than 200 levels to enjoy on a daily basis. It’s guaranteed that your kid will have fun while trying to pass all of those. Each level has different goals and is more difficult than the previous. Once passed all of them though it’s unlikely that your child will want to replay those again. Therefore, the replay value here is not very high, although it can provide short-term fun.

In Conclusion

Toon blast is a great game for kids with colorful graphics and pleasant nostalgic sounds. One thing that doesn’t allow to say that the game is perfect for kids is the revenue model. There are no ads, but it would be quite exhausting to cancel your child’s every $0.99 in-app purchase request. In addition, those purchases are really overpriced.
