POGO Games Review: Four for Free, Fifth for Fee
POGO Games is an app with a whole set of digital games, different in nature but equally fun. As you download POGO Games, you provide yourself with casual entertainment for long with just one app.
POGO Games Gameplay 4.5/5
In fact, POGO is a set of games, small and basic, but still fun. For Android it includes Poppit! (a variation on the famous Jawbreaker, requiring you to pop balloons of the same color), Word Whomp (a word game where your score measures your grammar skills), Turbo 21 (a strange hybrid of blackjack and a driving arcade), and Sweet Tooth 2 (another reply to Candy Crush Saga). Premium users can also enjoy solitaires. iOS version includes also Mahjong Safari (a solitaire version of the famous Oriental game) and Phlinx (a Match 3 game). As they all mirror something familiar, one POGO Games review is enough.
All of these games are available from the same app. As you progress, you raise your account and unlock new missions. Your integral score accounts for your success in all the games.
POGO Games Graphics 3/5
At first sight, the visuals of POGO seems poor, especially for such a publisher as EA. It all seems so flat, with low-level animation, though the style is kept the same across all the games.
On the other hand, you can run this set of games even on ancient devices, like iPhone 4s or Samsung Galaxy S II. If you happen to walk such a dinosaur and want to use it for entertainment, these POGO games are a real salvation.
POGO Games Sounds 4/5
Well, the game sounds just like it looks, and it’s not bad. It’s just minimalistic the way such economy games require. In fact, you can mute the device and still keep playing, with no serious damage to the gameplay.
All the games featured in POGO are well optimized for touch controls. No matter if you play on iDevice or on Android one, you won’t experience any problem with controlling it. This is the case when being completely unoriginal works for good, as you probably have seen similar games before and know how to move cards, shoot balloons, or swipe sweets.
Replay Value 5/5
That’s where unification is good. The developers constantly support the game and help your interest sustain by introducing new weekly quests and updating online leaderboards. Even without this the games have powerful attractive potential, and adding some dynamics only does it good.
These apps remind a pack of road table games that includes chess, checkers, dice, backgammon, domino, and sometimes even cards in one compact box. None of them is a masterpiece, but they perfectly fit in as little place as possible. So it makes sense to download POGO Games as a versatile and compact entertaining pack (if it’s available in your country).
It makes sense to download POGO games, if you use an old device, or don’t want to give it much space; but still these games, though looking simple, are fun.
Pros : Small and compact app with four or five games (if you subscribe);
Weekly challenges and online leaderboards;
Low system requirements.
Cons : Not available worldwide;
Android users have less games.
