Fishdom Review: Making The Best Aquarium

Review Standarts
Our main goal is to provide full and useful app reviews. Our authors strictly follow the rules: minimum 15 hours of the real app usage experience or gameplay, test on main Android and iOS versions, test on phones and tablets.

Who said that match-3 games are getting boring? These are certainly taking a new breath as the action goes underwater with time. Download Fishdom now to engage in the entertaining world full of fishes, crabs and sand castles while enjoying your favorite puzzles at the same time.

Fishdom Gameplay 4/5

The game mechanics are no different from other match-3 games. You have to create rows of 3 or more tiles in order for them to disappear. That is being performed by swapping these tiles around. The main goal is to collect golden tiles that occasionally appear. When all of those are collected level is over, and you get the reward. You’ll also see silver tiles, but these must be matched at least two times for them to disappear. Another unique feature here is blocked tiles with chains. In order to free it, you have to match it with other available tiles. Every round has a timer so better act fast. Generally speaking, gameplay is pretty basic for this genre and doesn’t have much to brag about.

Fishdom Graphics 5/5

Graphics were very thoroughly drawn as there’s almost nothing to criticize. Sea creatures and objects are eye-catching and very colorful. Aside from the entertaining gameplay you also get broad options on how to decorate your fish tank. You buy different items and place them all over the place. Those models are very detailed, and the only limit in the process of decoration is your imagination.

Fishdom Sounds 4.5/5

Sounds are fun enough and add more life to the game. Basic actions like tapping and swiping are accompanied by pleasant magical sounds. The soundtrack is pretty addicting and after few hours of play will probably stick in your head. When listening to it on the main screen, you can close your eyes and imagine yourself in the underwater kingdom of Poseidon. Great addition to the game.

Controls 5/5

Controls are basic for math-3 games. If you’re familiar with this genre, then you won’t feel yourself like a fish out of water. Simply tap the tile that you want to switch, and you’re good to go. Tank decoration controls are also pretty simple. You buy things in the store and move them to the place you want. Controls fit this game perfectly and won’t cause any difficulties even if you’re an inexperienced player.

Replay Value 2.5/5

Although solving match-3 puzzles and decorating aquariums can be fun, Fishdom doesn’t offer any revolutionary gameplay elements. The chances are high that soon enough you’ll get bored and quit this game forever. It can provide a fun experience for a couple of hours or even days, but that’s where the game meets its limit. Developers should add more game modes and features in order for us to write in this Fishdom review that replay value is high. Until then it’s not.

In Conclusion

Fishdom is a pretty basic match-3 puzzle game. It doesn’t shine among its competitors as it doesn’t provide any unique features. Yes, the tank decoration might be fun, but it gets boring pretty fast. Other from that the developers did a good job to make beautiful interface and music that really help to emerge in this underwater kingdom.
